Medicare, Private Health Insurance & NDIS Speech Pathology Funding Options

Fee Schedule Information

Direct Supports

This refers to all appointments with an Aphasia CONNECT provider (via face-to-face, telehealth or phone).

Our 2025 – 2026 Standard Fee Schedule for direct supports includes:

  • 90-minute appointment - $290.99

  • 60-minute appointment  - $193.99

  • 45-minute appointment - $145.49

  • 30-minute appointment - $96.99

Indirect Supports

This refers to non-face-to-face indirect support that goes into your appointment. Each appointment will incur an additional 15-minute fee ($48.49) of indirect support. This covers some of the indirect work (non-face-to-face) that goes into your appointment, including case notes, progress reviews, home practice email summaries and phone calls.

Additional Indirect Supports

Additional indirect supports are charged at $193.99 per hour. This refers to communication with stakeholders (client, support coordinator, doctor, occupational therapist, physiotherapist), attending multidisciplinary team meetings, individualised therapy resource development/home practice programs, completing NDIS report writing and investigation of assistive technologies.

Funding Options

NDIS Speech Pathology

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a federal government program that provides funding for people under 65 years of age who have a lifelong disability. Aphasia Connect Adult Speech Pathology provides NDIS speech pathology services to participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. 

Our NDIS speech pathology fees are aligned with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, with a capped rate of $193.99 per hour. For more information on specific requirements for NDIS speech pathology for aphasia, please visit the NDIS website.


Private Health Insurance

If your private health insurance includes speech pathology cover, you may be able to claim a rebate after paying for your service at Aphasia Connect. Please check with your health fund to confirm your eligibility and rebate amount.


Medicare – Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)

Chronic Disease Management Plans are arranged through your General Practitioner (GP). CDMs provide Medicare rebates for many allied health services, including Speech Pathology. A chronic condition is a medical condition lasting or expected to last 6 months or longer.

If you have a chronic condition that is being managed with your GP, you may be eligible for up to 5 rebates for Allied Health services, per calendar year. Medicare rebates are currently $61.80 per session. For more information on a Chronic Disease Management Plan and your eligibility, please speak to your GP.
